Igiri Petroleum Ltd is a start-up Oil and Gas Exploration and Development company. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hides Gas Development Company Limited (HGDC), the umbrella company of the upstream landowners of the PNG LNG project.
Igiri Petroleum is based in Port Moresby, with its registered office at the Port Tower Building on Hunter Street, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. It has two Petroleum Prospecting Licenses, PPL 523 and PPL 532. The two licenses are located in the Western Province within the lucrative Papuan Basin where oil and gas are being produced and exported.
Hides Security Services Ltd (HSSL) is the company contracted to provide security services to the PNG LNG Project upstream project sites including Hides PDL 7, Para Camp, Komo Airfield, Kobalu Camp and drilling sites in PDL1 and PDL-7
HSSL is a joint venture between Hides Gas Development Company Limited and Papua New Guinea’s premier security companies Guard Dog Security Services Ltd.
While Guard Dog Security provides expert security systems and guards, local landowners are hired as static guards to provide strategic security at the project sites.
The Joint Venture created an opportunity for local men and women to be given an opportunity to be professionally trained as security guards thus opening up a new opportunity for them to have some formal training that could be used elsewhere in the provision of professional security services.
It is the aim of HSSL to ensure that the landowners get first preference to be engaged as security guards at the project sites. HSSL, now has a local team of professionally trained security guards who are capable of carrying out duties across the project site.
Apart from providing security for the construction sites, our guards are now well trained to provide armed escorts as well as gather intelligence on security matters at the project areas.
Hides Security Services Ltd now has many local landowners employed in the company and this also is our small way of empowering the landowners so that they get basic skills in the provision of security services and high quality training that can be utilized anywhere else in the country.
The signing of the agreement ensured Hides Alliance Group (HAG) is in a better position to tender directly for all PNG LNG contracts for Camp Management and Catering Services in the Hides, Komo and Juha areas.
The Alliance Group is a new company that was formed between NCS and GCC Services, specifically to provide services for LNG projects. GCC sold their equity in HAG to the NCS group in 2012 ; The Alliance Group is owned 100% by NCS.
HGDC chose to work with The Alliance Group because of the level of professionalism, experience and commitment that the partnership would bring to the catering and camp management business.
The business of Hides Alliance Group continues to grow and expand across the Up Stream Project sites namely Kobalu, Well Pad D & G, Juni, CBIC main camp, C1 camp and HQ3 drilling camp.
Currently HAGL is a 50-50 JV between HGDC and NCS
